Grad School Interests

After I graduate from Oklahoma State University, I am looking to attend grad school at Montclair State University in NJ. They have a great in-state Master's program for Clinical Psychology. The program offers two concentrations: child/adolescent psychology or forensic psychology. I am interested in both concentrations, so I think it would be perfect for me.

Intended Job Path

My goal with my Psychology degree is to become a clinical psychologist. However, I am unsure about whether or not I want to help diagnose individuals with emotional, mental, or behavioral problems in the real world or the justice system.

Job Experience

Host/Expo/Food Runner/Busser

Since I was 17 years old I have worked at Taphouse Grille in Hackettstown, NJ. I started as a host. Being at the front of the house interacting with colleagues and customers allowed me to develop great customer service/interpersonal skills. After approximately two years as a host, I was promoted to work in the kitchen. I ran food to tables for a few months before becoming their one and only expo. I had no prior experience handling tickets and food, but I liked having the opportunity to learn something new and out of my comfort zone. While the back of the house was a totally different experience than the front of the house, I learned that in a stressful fast-paced work environment communication and teamwork are extremely important.
