About (Summary)

Hi, my name is Jaylian Duke. I am a senior at Overhills Highschool and will graduate with the class of 2020. I've been in ROTC since I was a freshman. My current rank is an SFC and my LET level will now be a LET 6. ROTC had a lot to do with shaping me into the person I am today. It took me out of my comfort zone and helped me learn how to be in a leadership position. Since being in ROTC my grades have improved which turned me into an A B honor roll student. I've also become more involved not only in school but also with my community by volunteering. On top of everything, I am also taking online early college classes for CCCC. I passed both my Psychology and Sociology classes and plan on taking English and History next.

Intended Job Path

My intended job path is to become a social worker and help people who are in need of it. I've been around many people who struggled with difficult life issues which are very upsetting to see and hear. I want to be able to be there for someone and try to help solve problems that they may be going through. Everyone should have someone in their life that they are comfortable talking to no matter what issue, and I want to be the person the people can come to.

I love to sew, paint, and anything that has to do with making something new. since the pandemic started, I started creating a face mask for people. I'm like to drill, which is why I joined the drill team ar my school. I also like to volunteer in any way I can, whether in or outside of school.
