I am currently an incoming Natural Science student at Rice University in Houston, TX. I am studying to be a neurosurgeon around the small town of Donna, TX where I grew up. My mother is an accountant, and my father was a CPA but is now retired/disabled due to his diagnosis of ALS. I am an extremely ambitious student and very experienced in leadership roles. I have grown up running cross country and track and field, first beginning in the fifth grade at the age of 10. My experience in the sport as a 3 time varsity member led me to be co-captain of my cross country team during my senior year. I was a leading member of the varsity team that won first place at the annual Tri-City race in 2019. I was also the captain of the Math UIL team at my school. During my junior year, we won first place at the regional competition advancing to the state competition where we placed second as a team, and I placed sixth individually. Unfortunately due to the current situation regarding the coronavirus, we were unable to improve on last year's results. I spend a lot of my time volunteering for various organizations including the Food Bank, Interact Club, National Honors Society, and as a Go-Center Team Member.
