My name is Adhyan Prasad and I am currently a senior at Whitefish Bay High School in Whitefish Bay, WI. Throughout high school, I have always loved taking classes in the STEM field, and I found a love for engineering at the micro level. My love for this field was further compounded through my involvement in SMART Team in grades 10-12. The team works with the Center for BioMolecular Modeling at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). Through the program, the team is paired with a university mentor and follows their research to culminate in a poster presentation session at the end of the year. We also experienced the process of 3d modeling proteins, giving me such enthusiasm that I want that experience to be a centerpiece of my undergraduate education. Both my father and mother work at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, so I have been surrounded by labs and exposed to the scientific process my entire life, allowing me to easily move on to study this field. Outside of academics, I volunteer a lot in my community through Scouts BSA, summer day camps, and staffing National Youth Leadership Training. Similarly, I swim for my high school's varsity swim team, which I have been involved with for all four years.
