About (Summary)
I am currently an undergraduate student at Lenoir-Rhyne University, a small, private institution in Hickory, NC. I am majoring in medical studies for my bachelor degree and plan to get my masters in physician assistant studies. I was introduced to the world of health care as a junior in high school by taking health science classes. After taking my first health science class, I knew that I belonged in the medical field. I continued to take health science related classes and became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Honors and Awards
Presidential Scholar
In high school, I was honored to be a presidential scholar. There were only eight in my graduating class that had the honor to be a presidential scholar. The criteria was based on SAT/ACT scores, GPA, and high school credit requirements.
NC Scholar
I graduated high school as a NC Scholar. The criteria was similar to that of the presidential scholar award, based on ACT/SAT scores, GPA, and class rank.
National Honors Society in High School
I was invited to be apart of the National Honors Society at East Burke High School. It was a organization for those who had high academic achievement during their freshman and sophomore years of high school.
Honors Academy at LR
Entering Lenoir-Rhyne, I was accepted to be apart of the honors academy. It is a group of students who show a high performance in academics during their high school careers. We have to maintain a certain GPA and take honors classes.
Grad School Interests
My plan as of right now is to be apart of Lenoir-Rhyne's undergraduate and graduate PA program. It is a 3-2 program meaning I will have three years to complete my undergraduate bachelors degree and two years to complete the masters in physician assistant studies. It is a highly competitive program, and I am ready to compete.
Intended Job Path
I plan on becoming a physician assistant. It has been a dream of mine to help others, and being a PA will help me do just that. There are a few specialties that I have considered, like nephrology, but I won't know my passion until we start clinical rotation.

Hobbies
One of my favorite hobbies is reading. There is something about reading a book that relaxes me and takes me to a stress free zone. I also enjoy watching Netflix, Grey's Anatomy in particular. Another thing I enjoy doing is spending time with my friends and family.
