The Parkinson's Disease Foundation's Summer Fellowship Program is designed to support students, from advanced undergraduates to graduate and medical students, in their pursuit of Parkinson's-related summer research projects.Ê The goal of the Summer Fellowship is to cultivate interest in Fellows into the cause and possible treatments for Parkinson's disease. Fellows work under the close supervision of a sponsor who is an expert in the Parkinson's community and oversees the project.ÊTypically, summer fellowships are offered for 10 weeks of laboratory work with an award of $3,000. Undergraduate students, graduate students and medical students are all eligible for summer fellowships.ÊEach applicant must identify a mentor, with whom he or she will conduct the proposed project.
