Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students

The William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students is a 10-month appointment beginning August 15 and ending June 15. In his or her internship, the Hearst Fellow undertakes research, writing, logistical, and administrativeï¾ support for the Program on Philanthropy and Social Innovation's (PSI) leadershipï¾ initiatives, public programs, and meetings.ï¾ Fellows receive a stipend of $15,000 for the year to cover housing and living expenses. Tuition is waived and all other program-related costs are covered. Fellows must be members of historically underrepresented groups in organized philanthropy who are either recent graduates, scholars, active volunteers, or nonprofit practitioners. They must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any academic field. Fellows must pursue either a Master of Arts in Philanthropic Studies or a Master of Public Affairs degree with a concentration in nonprofit management on a full-time basis (12 credit hours per semester). The application deadlines are in mid-July for the fall internship, mid-December for the spring internship, and mid-March for the summer internship.
