The DAAD German Studies Research Grant funds short-term research projects in either Germany or North America. The applicant's research should address cultural, political, historical, economic, or social aspects of modern and contemporary Germany from an interdisciplinary perspective. Research support ranging in value from $1,500 to $2,500 is available to individual scholarship recipients and is intended to offset living and travel costs during the active research phase. Undergraduates with at least junior status pursuing a German Studies track or minor are eligible. Students must be nominated by a program or department chair. Nominees must have completed two years of college-level German and a minimum of three German Studies courses by the deadline.
