The foundation of Leadership skills starts with the ability to be flexible, understanding, hardworking, good communication skills, making rightful decisions, being specific and diving in strategic and critical thinking strategies. For example, while I am a B.Sc Nutrition Undergraduate from Arizona State university, I picked up a job of a cashier at Rite Aid in Bend Oregon not because I am good at accounts but because I needed a job and was able to adjust my status with what the job offer was about. Even though I get less pay of $12.00 an hour and is scraping by, I am having good time doing what I do and doing it with passion, love and motivation. The skill of which is more important to me than the money I am getting right now. The reason being, as a leader, I need to be able to try my hands on each and everything that I come across especially low earning jobs, and be able to relate and understand how challenging those jobs are and how best we as a company can improve to make it better for those struggling in those positions for the rest of their lives. With Covid-19 creating scarcity of jobs, and with outstanding bills including tuition fees, rent, food etc, I am faced with no option but to take even the least job just to help float my head above water, just to help me keep going. Since a good leader quality is good decision making, understanding, adjustable, hardworking, loving, good communicator, focused, goal oriented, I can see myself as a skill learner trying my hands on various things before I finally settle down.for example, I worked as a housekeeper, food & nutrition supervisor at the Deschutes County Adult Jail in Bend Oregon and now a cashier. All this jobs have created a new skill in me of job analysis, critical and strategic decision making and goal orientation. While I am still looking for a better job, to enable me pay my college dues, I am also able to adjust with the situation as it is. Something a good leader should always be able to do and proud of, while sharing with others.
