What are the requirements to be in Pi Tau Sigma?

• The undergraduate membership requirements of PTS include a GPA above 3.25 and be within the top 25% of the junior or senior class. 
• The graduate membership requirements of PTS include a GPA above 3.5 and be within the top 25% of graduate students. 
• Sophomores are also invited to join this chapter as honorary affiliates with a requirements of a GPA above 3.5 and be within the top 15% of the sophomore class. All students must also participate in community service activities throughout the year. Initiations are every semester. 

What is the history of Pi Tau Sigma?

Pi Tau Sigma is an international Mechanical Engineering honors society. Pi Tau Sigma was founded to foster high ideals in the engineering profession, to stimulate and coordinate departmental activities, and to promote the mutual professional welfare of its members. 

What are the key benefits of being a member of Pi Tau Sigma? 

The mission is to foster soundness of character and moral conduct, serve the community and engineering profession, and to lead through example in a professional manner.

As an organization, they strive to expand and serve the university and local community while providing students tools and opportunities to achieve their educational and career goals.

Based on the information, here is our review:

Our first observation is: that as a Mechanical Engineering honor society, this organization seeks to foster communication among like-minded individuals and similar majors.

Our second observation was: that this society seems like it would be beneficial in terms of alumni benefits, considering the networking opportunities in the field are great. 

Our third observation was: that this society not only focuses on the scholarship aspect of honor societies, but the community service aspect, as well.
