A little about me
Feb 04,2017
My name is Grace Hagerty and I have received the Core Values Scholarship! As a student at the University of Georgia with an intended Accounting and Mathematics double major, I have a very busy schedule and a bright future ahead of me. I spent a majority of my first semester at UGA studying in the MLC (Miller Learning Center), but I was also a part of a few other organizations on campus. I am involved in UGA Miracle, a large group that supports Children's Health Care of Atlanta, and a member of the Club Swim team. I loved swimming in high school and I knew I didn't want to leave the sport, so I became a part of the club team. Granted I wasn't able to make as many practices as I would have liked because I am also involved in a sorority on campus, but I made time during my day to go swim by myself or with a buddy. It was a major stress reliever for me in high school, therefore, I knew I had to keep swimming or exercising if I wanted to balance my challenging curriculum first semester. Aside from swimming and studying, I tried to meet as many new people as possible, which is why a joined a sorority. I became very involved with participating in philanthropic events and attending chapter meetings with the specific intent of expanding my networking circles. My first semester at UGA was very busy and extremely fulfilling.
When I was notified that I had received the Core Values Scholarship, I was ecstatic! I am so grateful for the opportunity to enhance my education by finding funding for my current school. The University of Georgia has HOPE scholarship, which has been a blessing to my family, and now I have a scholarship that will help fund my books and education, which means I will have a little extra money set aside for graduate school. I hope that with the scholarship I can save for a prestigious graduate school and earn my masters in Mathematics or my CPA in Accounting, which will project me into a better position for applying to the work force. It all starts here with the Core Values Scholarship by taking my education and preparing for the future!
