Julia Ondarza: My Member Spotlight Scholarship!

Dec 08,2015

My name is Julia Ondarza and I am a senior at Texas A&M University. I am majoring in Allied Health and am currently in the process of applying to Physician Assistant school. Aside from my main priority of achieving a high GPA, I also focus on getting involved on campus and in our local community. I am an Aggie Angel which is the support team for TAMU basketball. We are in charge of various marketing duties as well as enriching  A&M spirit and tradition. On campus I am also a Group Leader in Future Aggie Physician Assistants (FAPA) where we unite fellow passionate Aggies that share the same career goal of becoming a Physician Assistant. I also enjoy being involved with Project Sunshine where we act as a friend and mentor to local children with special needs. Off campus I work as a medical assistant at an oncology clinic and am a volunteer at Tradition's Hospice. I have also traveled abroad to study Global Health Issues in the Dominican Republic and have been on a medical mission trip to Panama! In my limited spare time I love to run! This scholarship will be used towards my tuition this fall. As college students we struggle to financially support ourselves while excelling in school and extracurricular activities. I am truly honored and thankful for this opportunity.
