Honor Society Movie (2022): Cast Review

Jun 24,2022

With the new Honor Society movie set to hit the screens on July 29, 2022, there has been a lot of chatter regarding the cast of the film. The plot of the film in a nutshell is a high school senior trying to receive a recommendation from her guidance counselor, Mr. Calvin (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) in order to get into Harvard. Things go awry when she attempts to take out her top competitors, only to gain affection for one of them in the process--here is everything you need to know!

The cast is a mixture of new, fresh faces and seasoned Hollywood faces, including Angourie Rice (who appeared in the films Senior Year and Spider-Man: No Way Home), Amy Keum (who appeared in the films What a Drag and Evil), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (who appeared in the films Kickass, Kickass 2, Role Models, Superbad, and How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Neighbors), David A. Goodman (Screenwriting), Armani Jackson (who appeared in both Chad and Grey’s Anatomy), Oran Zegman (the film’s Director), and Gaten Matarazzo (who appeared in the film My Father’s Dragon).

In terms of film history, the film's writer—David A. Goodman—last wrote Rugrats and Who is Killing the Great Chefs? David A. Goodman also has quite the television resume, working on shows such as Family Guy and The Orville. Both shows have a sense and wit and playfulness about them, making this film promising in terms of dialogue and levity.

Paramount+ Original will be at the helm of the project, and Awesomeness Films is the production company that will bring the vision to light. The film is being shot in Vancouver, BC. with a projected release date of July 29th, 2022.

Representing Angourie Rice is WME, Catherine Poulton Management, and Sloane Offer. Gaten Matarazzo is represented by UTA, McKuin Frankel Whitehead, and Parkside Talent. Christopher Mintz-Plasse is represented by Verve, in addition to Artists First. Armani Jackson is represented by Gersh and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher, LLP. Finally, Amy Keum is represented by Artists and Representatives.

Honor Society is poised to be a light-hearted, engaging summer favorite for all to enjoy. The film’s trailer opens up with the main character listing off her long list of extracurriculars that she partakes in to make her an attractive option for Harvard, and just based on the narration, as well as her tone and cadence, we have reviewed the movie and can tell we’re in for a comical and entertaining ride.
